By Imam Al-Ghazali
Discover the deeper spiritual meaning behind Islamic acts of worship in Inner Dimensions of Islamic Worship by Imam Al-Ghazali.
This timeless work takes readers beyond the outward actions of prayer, fasting, charity, and pilgrimage, guiding them toward understanding the sincerity, intention, and inner transformation that give these acts true value.
Drawn from the writings of one of Islam’s greatest scholars, this book explores:
-
The inner reality of salah (prayer)
-
The spiritual purpose of fasting
-
The meaning of zakat and generosity
-
The transformative journey of Hajj
Rather than focusing only on the legal rulings of worship, Imam Al-Ghazali highlights the purification of the heart, the refinement of character, and the cultivation of taqwa.
About the Author
Imam Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali (1058–1111 CE) was one of the most influential scholars in Islamic history. Born in Tus (near present-day Mashhad, Iran) during the Seljuq era, he authored numerous works on theology, spirituality, and jurisprudence.
His most renowned work, Ihya’ Ulum al-Din (Revival of the Religious Sciences), remains one of the most important texts in Islamic scholarship. Inner Dimensions of Islamic Worship presents selected writings that continue to guide Muslims seeking sincerity and spiritual depth in their worship.
